Having delivered the Industry’s first Web-based resource sharing solution in 1994, Auto-Graphics hosts another satisfying SHAREit® user group conference, proving “Auto-Graphics does resource sharing right”.

Auto-Graphics, Inc., the Industry-leading and first Web-based library resource management solutions provider, recently held their SHAREit resource sharing user group conference. These regularly scheduled meetings enable Auto-Graphics to support the diverse needs of the 14 U.S. states, consortia, and Canadian provincial systems using SHAREit, the library industry’s most popular Web-based resource sharing solution for statewide/provincial/consortia interlibrary loan (ILL) since 1994.

Topics covered during the SHAREit User Group Conference were a combination of subjects the users want to learn more about and items Auto-Graphics staff feel are timely or need more user involvement. Included in the agenda for the 7-day virtual conference was coverage of what’s next for SHAREit, upcoming enhancements voted on by the group and a group discussion focused on patron-initiated ILL. A session on Inter-System Sharing Initiative (ISSI) networks was presented by Rhonda Machlan, Resource Sharing Specialist at the State Library of Kansas, a very satisfied Auto-Graphics resource-sharing user since 1992. ISSI networks help to allow all customer libraries to participate in resource sharing due to SHAREit’s support for NCIP, ISO ILL and IPIG standards along with proprietary APIs that provide inter-operability with all vendor ILS systems in addition to all major resource sharing systems including OCLC WorldCat, ILLiad, Relais, VDX, and INN-Reach.

Another long-term Auto-Graphics resource sharing user, Sunni Nishimura, the SHAREit User Group Chair and Manager of Resource Sharing at the British Columbia Electronic Library Network, had this to say about the 2017 Conference: “I’ve been an Auto-Graphics resource sharing customer since the early 1990’s and watched the company’s solution evolve from CR-ROM to the Internet back in 1994. I always have found the SHAREit user conferences so valuable, and this years was no exception. Held in the virtual environment, sessions are interactive, educational, and engaging. Hearing from Auto-Graphics staff about the work going on behind-the-scenes makes it so much easier to communicate with our libraries about SHAREit, and I always come away energised with fantastic ideas from other customers on optimising our use of the platform. Looking forward to the next one!”

“It’s gratifying to have the opportunity to meet with our resource sharing customers year after-year and to hear about the cost savings and improved customer service libraries who subscribe to our cloud-based interlibrary loan (ILL) management system,” states Paul Cope, President of Auto-Graphics and one of the original developers of Auto-Graphics’ continually evolving resource sharing solutions. “Knowing that we have consistently served this diverse group with an unmatched set of ILL resource sharing solutions for nearly 30 years now means we do resource sharing right for the over 6,000 libraries using our solution, and have been for nearly 3 decades.”
